Lewis and Clark Expedition Bicentennial Celebrations
May 20-23, 2004

In April 2004 I received a Treo 600 for my birthday, and hence owned a digital camera for the first time. It is, admittedly, a low-fi camera compared to others, but allows me to get sometimes surprisingly sophisticated snapshots that are good enough for web viewing. The first "event" I attended after receiving the Treo was the 200th anniversary of the Lewis and Clark expedition, May 20-23, 2004, down in St. Charles Missouri, the town where I was born and raised. I ended up snapping somewhere around 120 usable photos over the course of the weekend, so instead of writing my usual blog entry about the experience I thought it'd be interesting to try a "photo blog," whereby I mix in my usual text among the photos that illustrate it. I've cut the photos up into themes and put them on separate pages, to aid those who are visiting via phone modem or wireless mobile device.
