This photo is an outtake from one of the numerous photo shoots for my book The Tale of Johnny X. This was taken in St. Francois county, Missouri, on top of one their infamous "chat dumps" - giant, 100-foot-tall piles of sand, the leftover waste from the lead-mining process that used to take place on a daily basis down there. TRIVIA NOTE: The shirt I'm wearing was bright blue and featured bright red and yellow flowers throughout. God, I loved that shirt.
