GADTravel is a new imprint of GAD Publishing Company, devoted to publishing the travelogues of Jason Pettus and eventually a series of small travel guides. Also in 2005, GADTravel will be publishing its first traditional guide-style travel book, appropriately enough entitled The GADTravel Guide to the UK and Ireland. It will not be a comprehensive book per se, but rather detailed information on the things that Pettus saw during his stay, places he ate and drank at, museums, internet cafes, poetry slams, etc. Guides will also be filled with irrelevant sidebars, like on drug policies and quirky habits of the natives. Plus, every guide will start with a comprehensive general tutorial for the American who wishes to travel abroad, including step-by-step information on how to apply for a passport, how to find cheap international fares, transit options for the country in question, where to best exchange money, what to pack, how to get through international airports, and special cultural issues when it comes to the American traveling overseas. This and future guides will be given out for free at the website, as a promotional tool for the main travelogue.
