Many thanks to our sponsors, and our first official party is announced

Once a week I like to thank ITG's advertisers here at the blog; I ran out of time to do so this weekend, which is why I'm doing it now:

--Second Life Insider
--Big Red Button: A store for fans of Joss Whedon's Firefly
--xXx Fantasy Escorts
--Trivia With Samantha (held each Sunday, 4 to 5pm SLT)

Also, I have good news, that issue 1 of ITG's monthly magazine now has a release date; it's this Friday, October 6th. That's the date that you'll be able to stop by here, for either the American or European PDF version (the one that you can send to a laserprinter at work while your boss isn't looking); or stop by the ITG headquarters [Yongdong 186/177/21] for a 'Heads-Up Display' (HUD) version, which you can actually rez while in the grid and read there.

And to celebrate, we've decided to throw a party! It is, in fact, ITG's first official in-game party, hopefully one of many to come; nothing too fancy this time, just some ambient and drum-n-bass music, a little dancing, a little socializing, a chance to meet your fellow readers and to pick up a copy of the magazine for the first time. Then I think that one of our advertisers, xXx Fantasy Escorts, is going to do a little cross-promotional work with us as well; something along the lines of a mini-fashion show by the ladies of XFE at our event, and then a "naked dance party" at their place as an after-event.

Anyway, feel free to leave a comment at this entry if you're planning on attending; or just show up! I'll be hosting a smaller get-together for just the Europeans at 12pm (noon) SLT this Friday, which is 8pm London and 9pm Berlin; and then the bigger party with the fashion show and the like will be at 7pm SLT (9pm Chicago, 10pm NYC), with people heading to the XFE after-party between 8:30 and 9:00. If you feel like getting involved with the party, by the way -- if, for example, you're an ambient/drum-n-bass DJ with their own streaming server -- definitely drop me a line at inthegrid [at] gmail.com.

Don't forget, by the way, that you still have time to get an ad into issue 1; that's the beauty of being a one-person operation, after all, is that I can accept new content up to just hours before publication, without chaos ensuing. Rates and layout specs for issue 1 can be found here; and don't forget, a quarter-page or larger buy also gets you a free month of web advertising here as well, in the form of a 313 x 125 pixel "mini-banner" there on the left side of the page. Hope to see you all on Friday!
