[randommedia] is a podcast I have been maintaining since early 2005, featuring five-minute random snippets from my life: gallery openings, literary events, tech events, interviews with interesting random people, drunken conversations with my friends and more. In 2005 I maintained it by cellphone through Audioblogger.com; now I am maintaining it through an account at Odeo.com, both by cellphone and via home microphone.

Here: I set up the ability for people to comment over a week ago, and yet no one has taken advantage of it yet! Argh! As an enticement to use it, here from me a new episode of my podcast, recorded the same way yours will be, offering some suggestions on what you could comment about, if you're stumped yourself.

[randommedia] is a podcast I have been maintaining since January 2005, literally featuring random moments from my day-to-day life: literary events, tech events, gallery openings, indie-rock shows, drunken conversations with my friends and the like. It is recorded through my cellphone, using the service Audioblogger.com; finished files are then moved to my main website for archival purposes.

Here: a two-part interview with Greg Rewis, Senior Evangelist (Web Tools) for the Adobe corporation, after attending the Chicago stop of the Adobe Production Studio tour being sponsored by the company. Topics include: why Adobe does these tours, and how this one has been going; Greg's upcoming trip to Europe; what "The Big Merger" (between Acrobat and Macromedia last year) was like, considering that Greg was an old Macromedia employee himself; what you can expect to see in next year's Flash Action Script 3; and what exactly an 'evangelist' is in the first place. Episodes are originally posted in real time to my Blogger webpage, then reposted to this site later for archival purposes; the MP3 tracks found here have already been edited in iTunes and contain metadata and photos about the episode, while the tracks at the Blogger page do not. And I lived less than a mile from the bar, so somehow got convinced to host a very crowded party in the middle of the night at my place, while others purchased all the liquor and drugs necessary for such a thing. Here, a very drunken conversation with my friend Tom about how such a state of affairs came to be, as well as about our upcoming drive to St. Louis, where both of us grew up.

This episode: In honor of my German friend Alamar visiting Chicago for the first time, my friends decided to take him out to a karaoke night tonight, at this cheesy frat-bar place in the Lakeview neighborhood. A little of that goes a long way, though, so here is a drunken conversation we're all having on the Belmont sidewalk instead, making our way to Clark to patronize an indie-rock dive bar called the L & L.

[randommedia] is a semi-regular podcast I have been producing since spring 2005, using a Blogger webpage and a free service called Audioblogger.com; recordings are made from my cellphone, and because of technical limitations are never more than five minutes in length. I use the podcast mostly to record interesting small conversations during random moments in my life; interviews with local scenesters, reports from artistic events, drunken conversations with friends at parties and the like. Episodes are originally posted in real time to my Blogger webpage, then reposted to this site later for archival purposes; the MP3 tracks found here have already been edited in iTunes and contain metadata and photos about the episode, while the tracks at the Blogger page do not. Both sites have podcast-friendly web feeds for just the audio reports; here is the one for Blogger and here is the one for this site.
