Two- to five-minute video reports from random events in my day-to-day life: gallery openings, indie-rock shows, drunken parties with my friends and the like. Recorded on my cellphone, a Treo 650, uploaded at a later date to my account at YouTube.com. RSS-enabled.

The same as [randomvideo] but with audio only, and posted in real time using cellphone technology, via Odeo.com. RSS-enabled; can be used in such podcasting software as iPodder and iTunes.

[randommedia] is a semi-regular podcast I have been producing since spring 2005, using a Blogger webpage and a free service called Audioblogger.com; recordings are made from my cellphone, and because of technical limitations are never more than five minutes in length. I use the podcast mostly to record interesting small conversations during random moments in my life; interviews with local scenesters, reports from artistic events, drunken conversations with friends at parties and the like. Episodes are originally posted in real time to my Blogger webpage, then reposted to this site later for archival purposes; the MP3 tracks found here have already been edited in iTunes and contain metadata and photos about the episode, while the tracks at the Blogger page do not. Both sites have podcast-friendly web feeds for just the audio reports; here is the one for Blogger and here is the one for this site. (To use, right-click on the link and choose "Copy Link to Clipboard;" then paste the link into the "add feed" window of your favorite podcast software or feed reader.)

This episode: A conversation with my German friend Alamar during his first-ever visit to Chicago. This episode was recorded on the red-line el train; topics include the upcoming karaoke night we are traveling to, Alamar's thoughts so far on America and Chicago, and his amusement with walking around Chicago's German neighborhood earlier in the week and spotting the unending spelling mistakes on restaurant menus and the like.
