Good Lord, part 1: 83 new photos at my Flickr account today! This is admittedly a pretty high number for me that will usually not be repeated; with the recent acquisition, though, of a new British Epsilon digital camera (and thanks again, Steve James, for the great gift), I ended up going a little camera-crazy last month. Anyway, you can click here for photos from the recent "Tuesdays at the Terrace" event I attended at the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art; here for shots from the "Secret Lives of Librarians" reading at Quimby's Bookstore; here for some architectural shots from the North and Clybourn red-line el stop (which, yes, I know, is misspelled all over the place over there at Flickr - cut this rushed internet-cafe customer a little slack); here for all the panoramic shots I took around the city last month; and here for all the rest of the random photos I took around town last month. (The first four photosets mentioned each have 10 to 15 photos apiece; the general random photoset contains around 35.)
Don't forget that once this blog is moved to its permanent location and is up and running as my "official" journal (which is still scheduled to happen this Sunday), I'll be double-posting photosets like this not only to my Flickr account but to The Jason Pettus Online Repository of Life Experiences™ as well; here, of course, they'll be fully integrated into my search engine, category list, and date-based archives, and will even have their own specific RSS feed you can subscribe to if you want. So why bother double-posting to Flickr as well, you might ask? Oh, well, I like the idea of being a part of something much larger than myself, by double-posting my newest photos there as well; of having my photos be part of a much larger database of images there that millions upon millions of people are accessing on an hourly basis, and having opportunities to have my photos seen there by people who may not even know that my personal site exists. (Like, last week someone randomly came across this strange photo of mine that's half red and half blue, and asked me to add it to a Flickr group pool specifically dedicated to half-red, half-blue photos. And ask me if I would even know that such a strange, specific group even existed, if I didn't have my photos up at Flickr and given this guy a chance to randomly come across it. You see what I'm talking about.) Anyway, my point is that starting next month, you'll actually have two ways to follow along with my photos if you want; you can keep an eye on my Flickr account (or subscribe to its feed), or you can just wait for me to post them here at my site (or subscribe to THAT feed).
